Louis' Final Five Revealed...
Louis Walsh has made the final decision on the line-up of his new one million
Euro girlband. As predicted his co-manager Kian Egan got his girlfriend Jodi
Albert into the group. The final five are Kasey Smith, Corrina Duran, Sharon
Condon, Jodi Albert and Leanne Moore. Sadly, original member Michele McGrath got
the elbow...
Louis Walsh and Kian Egan have finalised their fab five females set to take-on
Girls Aloud and the Pussycat Dolls in the Pop charts.
With their youngest member 18 year old Kasey Smith and their oldest member 25
year old Jodi Albert from England, the line-up is now rubber stamped and in the
bag. At least we think it is...
Controversially, Westlife’s Kian Egan was hardly going to axe his own long term
girlfriend from the band. But in fairness to Jodi Albert she is a very talented
vocalist. Jodi's original co-star in the band, Michele McGrath, got the chop
after getting to the last eight, narrowly missing the final draft. Ah, poor
Shelly-belly.
Another band member of the yet unnamed group is 22 year old Corrina Durran from
Clondalkin in Dublin. We don't know much else about Corrina at this stage other
than she gave one of the strongest auditions in The POD back in July.
23 year old Leanne Moore from Limerick is another one of Louis' luscious ladies.
Some of you might recognise Leanne as the winner of You're A Star 2008, she also
had an Irish No. 1 single in Ireland in June with the song On Wings.
The last member of the line-up is 23 year old Sharon Condon from Dublin. Sharon
is another singer which caught Louis Walsh's eye in the You're A Star
competition...
So that's your final five folks. Jodi Albert, Kasey Smith, Corrina Durran,
Sharon Condon and Leanne Moore... But somehow, we don't think we've heard the
last of Michele McGrath and her connection with this band. If we know Louis
Walsh, there's always a surprising final twist to keep the press on their toes.
So, we’ll wait until their Late Late Show unveiling in 3 weeks time before we
completely write her off.

culled down to 24.
The lucky ones will go to the judges’ houses as they attempt to make the final

Cheryl Cole will decide on the 14 to 24-year-old girls category in a posh villa
in Cannes, France.
Simon will pick his 14 to 24 boys in Barbados, while Dannii Minogue and Baby
Spice Emma Bunton will choose over-25s in St Tropez. Louis will pick groups with
Westlife’s Shane Filan at a castle in Ireland

Former You're a Star songstress Sharon Condon is today hotly tipped to have made
the final five in Louis Walsh's new girl band. Joining her will be Kian Egan's
girlfriend, Jodi Albert and Dublin singer Corrina Durran.
Despite the secrecy surrounding the make-up of the band, one of the others
strongly believed to be included is cover girl, Kasey Smith an 18-year-old Dub
who posed for a motoring magazine earlier this year.
While there has been no surprises over Kian's girlfriend's role in the band, a
source close to the band told the Herald that the position of model Michelle
McGrath -- who had been considered a dead cert from day one -- is less certain.

The Herald understands Sharon Condon is one of the lucky five. She is one of the
two already famous faces in the line-up, the other three girl band members are
relative unknowns to the Irish and UK pop scene.
An official announcement, revealing the new Louis Walsh and Kian Egan-backed
band is expected shortly. The girls are expected to be "unveiled," Boyzone style,
with an appearance on the Late Late show next month.
Speaking to the Herald, Sharon Condon said she had heard the rumours she was in,
but that nothing was official just yet.
"I'm still waiting on a call. People have been saying it to me, but I haven't
heard a word yet. I'm still left hanging like the rest of them," she said.
"I don't know yet if I am in or not, so I'm just waiting really, and hoping,"
she added.
Sources close to the new band have said the singer has, this time, hit the
jackpot.

2008 : D-day for girlband hopefulls. |
It was the day of reckoning for Louis Walsh's new girlband yesterday as eight
became five.
The Xfactor judge whisked his ladies off too Windmill Lane studio in Dublin to
sing for their lives.
The eight remaining hopefuls including ex hollyoaks stars Jodi ALbert are
battling it out for a place in the band.
Model Michelle Mcgrath and Your A Star's Sharon Condon are also in the final
eight.
Hailed as Irelands answer to The Pussycat Dolls, Louise as joined forces with
Westlife singer Kian Egan to create the new girlband.
More than 1500 hopefuls have battled it out in front of Kian and Louis at the
first auditions in July.
Gorgeous Jodi Albert, who is due to marry Kian Egan next year, has said that if
she earns her place in the band she wants it to be on her own merits.
She said "I said to Kian that i didnt really want any favours". If they do want
me to be part of the project then i want to get my place cause i earned it not
because of the people i know or involved with ."she said.

Pop impresario Louis Walsh believes the Irish music business is in crisis and
says he is "sick to death of grovelling to wankers in Irish radio" trying to get
airplay -- even for Westlife and Boyzone.
And he has endorsed a campaign by the Musicians Union of Ireland (MUI) for new
laws -- replicating French and Canadian legislation -- which would force Irish
radio stations to play a significant percentage of home-produced music.
"Even for me this week I've been trying to get airplay, ringing around for the
Boyzone single, I Couldn't Love You Anyway, which is going to be a number one
record. We can't get airplay and no-one seems to give a f*** around here. Even
for Boyzone and Westlife, I still have to grovel."
And according to folk singer Danny Carthy of the MUI, the Irish folk and
traditional sector is in deep trouble with some of Ireland's best known
musicians unable to get gigs because they are never heard on radio.
"I was at Ronnie Drew's funeral and apart from the big names there were a lot of
really talented people who came out to pay tribute, but many of them haven't had
a gig in months," he said.
"According to Arts Council research, 50 per cent of artists earn an annual
income of less than €10,000.
"An Irish Music Rights Organisation report (IMRO) for 2004 showed that in that
year, all of the broadcasters in Ireland paid about €7.5m in royalties.
"Of this, €6.75m went to foreign publishers, composers and songwriters and just
€750,000 for their Irish counterparts and only five per cent of that filtered
down to the folk and trad sector -- about €40,000,'' Mr Carthy said.
He believes that because of the lack of support, an integral part of Ireland's
culture will be lost.
"Without airplay we can't get record contracts and we can't get gigs. We are
losing part of what we are," he says.
But according to Louis Walsh, even Irish pop and rock bands are being ignored by
Irish radio. He says most are merely cheap copies of English or American
stations.
"You have all these stations; 98fm, 104, Today FM, and they are all like foreign
stations. And they should have to play 30 per cent of Irish music; be it it Van
Morrison, U2, Christy Moore or whatever, like they do in France and Canada.
"Trying to get people in these stations and trying to get airplay is impossible.
I was ringing 2FM and there was no-one out there.There is no-one in charge of
any of these stations and it is a joke.
"Nobody in Ireland seems to care. We have all these radio stations for four
million people and they are all playing the same records. They are all playing
Justin Timberlake and all playing American and UK bands. No-one wants to play
Irish bands or break new bands.
"Sometimes they play them at night time, very late at night, and that covers
them, but we need daytime radio and that's why bands like The Blizzards, The
Coronas and the Republic of Loose are struggling because they don't get enough
airplay," the X Factor judge said.
He says it's ironic that his bands get far more airplay on UK radio than they
get in Ireland .
"For Boyzone and Westlife and it's always been like that. For some reason the
local DJs just don't want to play Irish records. How would they feel if we
brought in English DJs to play Irish records here? They all seem to have given
up on it."
The Radio Quota Law in France requires that all radio stations dedicate at least
40 per cent of their music broadcasts to French language repertoire, with 20 per
cent of that dedicated to new talent and new releases.
As a result, investment in French music has increased and record sales achieved
by French artists have risen dramatically.
"I am totally in favour of the French and Canadian models where the government
has laid down that radio stations play a percentage of their own music. Since I
started in this business I am fed up with grovelling to wankers in radio.''
"They don't want to play local bands. It's as if they don't want them to be
successful. I am talking about all the young rock bands and the trad and folk
areas as well. It's affecting the studios, it's affecting the whole live music
scene," Walsh said.
"I don't even hear Jack L on the radio. He's a great, great talent. You have
Mundy. You have thousands of singer/ songwriters, young bands.
"But I'm determined that this is going to be sorted out. I'll go to any minister
to get this culture changed and it's not for me and my bands but for Irish music
across all spheres.
"This hits record shops; it stops gigs. It hits everybody. We used to have a
brilliant business around here but Irish radio is killing it stone dead," the
pop manager said angrily.

Spears Will Star On X Factor
SIMON Cowell has confirmed Britney Spears WILL appear on this year's X
Factor.
Fans of the hit show have been waiting as rumours grew the US singer was
to appear on our TV screens this December.
And Simon told fans: "Yes, I think Britney is going to perform on The X
Factor."
The news will be music to the ears of the X Factor hopefuls battling it
out for a place in the live TV stages.
Tomorrow, viewers will see 24 contestants go through the boot camp and
12 singers will be chosen to be mentored by judges Simon, Louis Walsh,
Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole.
Cheryl has the 14 to 24-year-old girls, Louis looks after the groups,
last year's winning judge Dannii has the over-25s and Simon has the 14
to 24-year-old boys.
It's just been announced Baby Spice Emma Bunton will be joining
Dannii to help choose her three acts for the live final, Louis will be
joined by Westlife's Shane Filan, Simon will be assisted by Eightiess
pop star Sinitta, while Cheryl is drafting in Kimberley Walsh from Girls
Aloud.
And we have no doubt that whatever category the singers are in, they
will be desperate to catch the comeback of Britney.
Simon raved: "We didn't get her. She has a record coming out. We're
thrilled to have her. She's a hugely talented person.
"Everyone wants to work with her - she's a star."
The pop megastar, 26, will perform comeback single Womanizer on the
show.
The appearance is her first here since her Onyx Hotel tour over four
years ago - and also marks her continued recovery after a public
meltdown last year.
But Simon isn't worried about Britney's breakdown, which included losing
custody of her children, attacking paparazzi and shaving her head.
The X Factor guru added: "The fact she goes a bit crazy makes her
interesting."
The series is shaping up to be the most glamorous yet, as Dannii and
Emma jet off to St Tropez, Cheryl and Kimberley take their girls to
Cannes, Louis is in an Irish castle and Simon's lot go to Barbados.
Flying the flag for Scotland are OAP Betty Bryce, 66, from Edinburgh,
Rikki Loney, 20, from Glasgow, Amy Connelly, 19, who lives with her
Scots dad in Watford, Lisa Milburn, 23, from Edinburgh, and Glasgow
girlband High Voltage.

GORGEOUS Dannii Minogue is spicing up the X Factor
by bringing in Emma Bunton as her judging sidekick.
The Aussie told TV Biz that Baby Spice, 32, has been a godsend when it
comes to deciding which wannabes to put through.
Dannii, 36, who is putting the over-25 hopefuls through their paces at
her rented pad in the ritzy French resort of St Tropez, said: “She’s
been brilliant — one of the best X Factor guest judges ever.
"She really helped me focus on who we should be putting through to the
next round.”
The beauty added: “Emma is one of the biggest X Factor fans so she knows
the show inside out.”
Each of the ITV1 hit’s four judges is allowed to pick a trusty aide to
help them weed out weaker contestants during singing boot camps at the
stars’ homes.
And Dannii revealed that she is finding the process heart-breaking.
She admitted: “It’s so hard deciding who to put through and who to send
home because it means the world to these people.
“You’re sitting there and you’re in charge of these kids’ hopes and
dreams.”
Meanwhile just up the French Riviera’s coast, in Cannes, Cheryl Cole,
25, has turned to Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh, 26, to pick the
best of the girls’ category.
Fellow judge Louis Walsh, 56, has picked Westlife singer Shane Filan,
29, as his helper.
The singer has flown out to Louis’ Irish home to give his advice on the
shortlist.
And Simon Cowell, 48, has regular sidekick Sinitta, 41, to help him
whittle down the lads’ category at his home in Barbados.
Dannii revealed her Baby signing as Britney Spears, 26, put pen to paper
to perform on the show — just as The Sun predicted.

WESTLIFE star MARK FEEHILY is spearheading a campaign to help fight
homophobic bullying in Britain's schools.
The singer - who revealed he was gay in August 2005 - joined Stonewall's
campaign because he was bullied as a boy.
He says, "It's not just individual bullying, it's the way kids in
classrooms use the word gay to mean bad - gay trainers, a gay jacket
they don't like - that needs to be tackled.
"People need to know that a throwaway remark at school will stab certain
members of the class in the heart."
Feehily joins Sir Ian MCKellan, The Feeling star Dan Gillespie Sells,
and Dannii Minogue in backing the nationwide campaign.

Mariah Carey is to release an 18-track-compilation of her ballads, that
will be the singer's sixteenth album to date.
Many of the star's best known songs can be found on 'The Ballads',
including collaborations with Boyz II Men, Westlife, Luther Vandross and
more.
One song - 'How Much' - was also recorded for her 1999 'Rainbow' album,
but was not released as a single.
Carey releases the collection first in the UK on October 20 and then
both Canada and the US will get the compilation in January 2009.

Gurus's ,admitted her days, of carefree travelling, are over since
giving birth to twins of 17 months , Jay and Rocco.
"Travelling with twins, is never a dull moment", ever she says.
However the former Taoiseach's daughter raved about a new kids area, for
first class,and business class passangers...

..."
"There we were battling, through the airport. but when we arrived at the

Brian's fury that cartoon ruined hit single record.
IRISH singer Brian McFadden has hit out at Bob the Builder - who accused
of depriving Westlife of 11 number one hits in Britain.
The former member of the top boy band admitted he was fuming when Bob
the Builder broke Westlife's winning streak during Christmas 2000 after
seven number one singles in a row.
"Especially for the fact that our eight single - the one that went to
number two - was our biggest selling first week single ever, selling
245.000 in the first week" he said.
"Bob the Builder was selling like 300.000 - 400.000 a week at Christmas.
"If that single had been released any other time we would have had our
eight number one.
"And the sad thing is our 9th, 10th and 11th actually wen to number one
so we could have had a record of 11 number ones, only for Bob the
Builder". |

Top model Michelle Mcgrath was last night revealed, as a
member of Louis Walsh's new girlband, in a bizarre Pr gaffe.
The line up for the x factor judges sexy new 5 piece girlband, had been
a closely guarded secret, -with some sources saying it hadnt even been
finalised yet.
But a press release sent out yesterday, eveing revealed the Assets babe,
-one of the final eight band hopefulls, had made into the group.
It said actress and new girlband member Michelle McGrath would be
showcasing a product in St Stephens, Green Dublin.
The 22 year old Catwalk queen, was keeping a low proflie after the news
was accidentally leaked.
And sources close to Louis Walsh and Kian from Westlife , were still
keeping tight lipped over the final line up.
A spkesperson said, "I dont know how it could be said, she is in the
band when the final decision hasnt been made./Nothing has been announced.
Last week,. The Irish Sun, learned the fab five, would be revealed in
the days to come. A spokeperson at the time . There is one more, session
in store in front of the record company then the eight will become five.
It will all be up to the record company what happens next.
Kian's fiance Jodi, 25, and Youre a star Sharon Condon were also,
amongst the final eight.
The girls have been battling for weeks now for a place in Ireland's
answer to the pussycat dolls.

It may merely be a case of over-anxious PR execs
trying to drum-up interest in yet another photocall - it could also mean
the cat-is-out-of-the-bag on Louis Walsh and Kian Egan's new girlband...
Either way, a misdirected press release yesterday named Michele McGrath
as a final member of the much hyped group...
Ever since we announced that Louis Walsh and Kian Egan were launching a
new all fabulous female group to compete with Girls Aloud, there has
been so much media hype surrounding the band. Mainly because we
predicted that Kian's girlfriend Jodi Albert and model Michele McGrath
had been pre-ear-marked for places long before the open auditions took
place...
Now all that has died down and the band is set to be whittled down from
eight to five final girls, but an unfortunate PR gaffe has landed poor
Michele smack-bang into another media storm...
Yesterday a press release went out to the media to announce a photocall
opportunity with the stunning Assets model, stating: "actress and new
girlband member Michele McGrath" would be showcasing a product in St
Stephen's Green today... Ooops!
As far as we know this was just an over zealous PR slip-up and not a

Stunning Jodi Albert does not have a gauranteed place in
the new girlband masterminded by Kian Egan and Louis Walsh as neither is
picking the final line up.
The duo have spend thousands of euro flying to jet in the man behind Amy
Whinehouse and The Sugababes to pick the final line up.
Music whizz Darcus Beese will put all the final eight girls, into a
recording studio to see which quintet will work the best.
This means the girls might not know there fate till christmas. Speaking
from Miami, Louis walsh told the Star Sunday, "There wont be any
announcement on the girls this week..And the girls wont know cause we
wont know. "
"We have hired the best A&R Man in the business, his name is Darcus
Beese and he is going to decide on the final five. "
"I have said from the beginning no girls s a shoe in for the band" "Darcus
will put all eight girls into a recording studio, and check their
individual voices. Then he wil get all the girls intogether. "
"The five girls who sound the best together will end up as the final
five. "
The music mogul audititoned more than 1000 girls, for his new band whom
he hopes can take on Girls Aloud.
CO-managed by Westlife pin up Kian Egan , the succesful girls will be
given an immediate contract and make-over.
LAUNCH
Simon Cowell is already working with the group, and a lucrative
publishing deal is alrady on the cards.
But Louis revealed he has no plans to launch the new group until after
christmas. he said "Kian is on holidays, and im working with X Factor
until the new year. "
"As a result i wont be doing anything, with the band until then... There
just wont be time to do it right, and that is what i want to do. "
"My first love has always been managing bands, and i am a hands on
manager. So for this to go as we have planned me and Kian have to be
avaiable 100 % committment and we cant do that until the new year. "
But Louis said "There is only one place where we can announce the new
group - on the Late Late show. "
He plans to reveal the troupe,in a special performance Pat Kenny along
with an exclusive interview.
He said!I have always had a great relationship with The Late Late Show.
It was where everything began with Boyzone, with Gay Byrne and the
infamous dance. "
"Also Westlife have also debuted, new songs and albums, and have also
done a number of specials. "
"It seems only fitting that we unveil our new group, on the Late Late
show with Pat. "

The runner up from BBC’s “Any Dream Will Do” releases his debut album.
‘This Time’ is the debut album from Edinburgh born Keith Jack. Produced
by John McLaughlin, It includes songs from great international
songwriters including Ivor Novello award winning Steve Robson, Oscar
winning Don Black, Kian Egan (Westlife), John McLaughlin and various
others including 3 tracks co-written by Keith. There are of course a few
favourites from the show including “You Raise Me Up” and “Love is All
Around”.
It’s been an amazing 18 month journey for Keith Jack. From packing
shelves in his local supermarket to appearing in front of millions of
viewers every Saturday evening on his way to reaching the grand final of
BBC’s “Any Dream Will Do”.
Since the show, he has performed up and down the country on the touring
production of “Joseph” playing to over 250,000 people. He has had
numerous appearances on TV and radio in the last few months including an
amazing performance with The BBC Concert Orchestra on Radio 2. He also
headed up the Choices for Life campaign in Scotland which saw him
perform to every primary 7 child in the country.

SINGING sensation Keith Jack will be performing in Perthshire later this
month.
The Edinburgh-born vocalist, pictured right, who was the runner-up on
BBC’s Any Dream Will Do series, will appear at Pitlochry Town Hall on
September 30 as part of an extensive UK tour.
His album ‘This Time’ includes songs from great international composers,
including the Ivor Novello award-winning Steve Robson, Oscar winner Don
Black, Kian Egan (Westlife), John McLaughlin and others.
Jack has also co-written three tracks and there are favourites from the
TV show, including ‘You Raise Me Up’ and ‘Love is All Around’.
The former supermarket worker has performed up and down the country on
the touring production of ‘Joseph’ since his big break, playing to over
250,000 people, and has made numerous screen and radio appearances.
He also headed up the Choices for Life campaign which saw him perform to
every P7 child in Scotland.
Currently, Jack is starring in a brand new musical, ‘Only the Brave’,
which made its debut at the Edinburgh International Festival.
His year will finish in traditional style when he makes his panto debut
in Peter Pan. |

AFTER months of build-up and anticipation, the final line-up for Louis
Walsh's new girlband is due to be decided tomorrow.
The eight finalists who made it down from more than 700 aspiring
starlets after a series of tough auditions have a nail-biting meeting
with the creators of the group today.
They're going to find out their fate once and for all as they're told
whether they have been successful in their shot at fame -- or it's back
to the grindstone for them.
An inside source revealed: "For five young girls, this really is a life-changing
decision and they all want it so much, so the waiting to hear whether
they have made it into the band or not has been agony for them.
"Louis and Kian see no reason to stall things any longer and are keen to
get moving on things sooner rather than later. They have been really
impressed with all the talent that they saw but there's only places in
the band for five girls and they have finally made up their minds who
they want to see in the line-up."
Hailed as Ireland's answer to the Pussycat Dolls, Louis has joined
forces with Westlife star Kian Egan to create the new girlband.
Given that Kian and his fellow chart-topper bandmates have taken a year
off their hectic touring schedule, he has been left with plenty of time
on his hands to throw into the venture.
His manager Louis has been enjoying a well-deserved holiday in Miami
ahead of returning to filming for X Factor in October, but has attended
every audition for the girlband.
Now they're due to unveil their ultimate decision as the finalists
gather for the last time at a secret Dublin location tomorrow.
Among those who have definitely made it to down to the final eight are
Kian's fiancée Jodi Albert, who was previously in a girlband with Simon
Cowell.
AMBITIOUS
Also there is ambitious model Michele McGrath, who starred in the
Christmas panto last year and has made no secret of her desire to carve
out a career in showbiz.
Walsh has said that he's convinced their new group, to which Simon
Cowell is lending his support, will blow away the rest of their
competition.
"We're looking for talent," he said. "Undiscovered talent, young with a
good attitude and who will look good. We don't want good - we want great."

THE Pearse Stadium Development
Committee and Galway City Council have not yet been
paid for the washout Westlife concert held in the
Salthill venue last June, city councillors were told
last night.During a discussion on the concert,
Director of Services for Planning, Tom Connell,
admitted that they local authority has still not
received the agreed €55,000 contribution from
concert promoters for expediting the process for
granting a licence.
He added that he was still “quite confident” the
money would be paid, adding that the stadium
committee had not been paid either.

deny restaurant row

The managers of Ian Poulter and Colin Montgomerie last
night vigorously denied that the golfers, Ryder Cup team-mates in 2004,
had to be separated after a stand-up row in a West London restaurant.
“It is all made up,” Paul Dunkley, Poulter's manager, said. “It is a
typical publicity-machine sort of story and there is no truth in it
whatsoever.”
A Sunday newspaper alleged that a “swaying” Poulter and Montgomerie had
had a “furious bust-up” in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Describing it as “a war of words”, the newspaper said it was to do with
Poulter's selection by Nick Faldo for a place in the Europe team to face
the United States in Kentucky next week.
The newspaper quoted an unnamed onlooker at Zuma, the fashionable
Japanese restaurant, as saying: “Poulter had just finished a meal with
his pals Brian McFadden and Nicky Byrne of Westlife when he spotted
Monty across the room. He had had a few ales inside him and went over to
have a word.
“The next thing we knew the two of them were arguing about the Ryder Cup.
They were standing up and shouting at each other, turning the air blue.
Luckily, the Westlife lads ran over and tore Poulter away. Otherwise,
who knows what would have happened. Monty thought Poulter should have
earned his place in the team rather than chasing a big pay day [in the
US] and he told him so. Poulter wasn't having it and told Monty to keep
his nose out.”
Dunkley confirmed that Poulter and Katie, his wife, were in the
restaurant on Friday night. But he vigorously denied the newspaper's
version of events. Guy Kinnings, Montgomerie's manager and the best man
at his wedding to Gaynor, his second wife, said: “Where do stories like
this come from?
“What happened was that Monty and Poulter were both in Zuma on Friday
night. Monty had popped in for a quiet meal with Gaynor. They passed the
table where Ian was sitting and the two wives waved at one another and
Colin and Ian chatted for a few moments. Colin wished Ian luck and that
was that.”
Montgomerie and Poulter have exchanged words in the past, most recently
at this season's European Open at The London club, and after a Sevy
Trophy match a few years ago about Poulter's apparent lack of support
for a team in which they both appeared. But nothing compared to what is
alleged to have happened in Zuma. As Montgomerie said: “I don't get into
a brawl with people in restaurants.”

On Sunday
A VALLEYS mum is so passionate about one boy band
that she’s given them her full backing.
In fact, mother-of-four Vicky Jones of Aberdare
loves Irish popsters Westlife so much that she spent
nearly a GRAND having their four faces tattooed on
her, from shoulder to shoulder, as a 40th birthday
present.
Unemployed Vicky, who stays at home to look after
her 16-year-old daughter Samantha with learning
difficulties, claims she forks out thousands every
year on her love for the group – even spending 16
painful hours under the needle getting the black and
grey portraits of singers Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne,
Mark Feehily and Kian Egan done.
“My kids think I’m mental, but I really love
Westlife, have done since they started about 10
years ago,” said Vicky, sitting in the bedroom of
her home that’s plastered from ceiling to floor with
more pics of the group.
But what does husband Colin, 42, think of her
obsession?
“He doesn’t mind, he’s a very patient man – he
has to be,” she laughed.
“He doesn’t really get it though, he prefers
Sugababes and Girls Aloud himself.”
Although he doesn’t mind his wife dragging him to
the dozens of concerts she goes to every year.
“I’ve been to about 300 Westlife shows now in
total,” said Vicky.
“The furthest was when I drove to Newcastle to
see them, and then drove straight back home to South
Wales afterwards.
“It was a lot further away than me and Colin
thought, about a 20-hour round trip altogether.
“Still, Colin used to be a mechanic, so we would
have been okay if we’d broken down.”
The band have all seen the tattoos, she said.
“Yes, they all know me now and give me a wink or
a wave when they see me down the front at their
shows,” laughed Vicky, who endured several long,
painful sittings at Chris Govier’s Body Art Tattoo
studio in Swansea.
“The first time they saw my back was in Sheffield
in March and they were all blown away.
“Although they joked Shane looked a bit fat in
the face, but that’s because the tattooist had to
copy from a photo I’d taken of him at a concert that
was a little blurred.
“It would have been okay if Samantha hadn’t
excitedly tugged on my arm just as the flash went
off,” she said, adding that she later got the lads
to add their signatures at a book signing in Dublin
“I flew over there, booked a hotel but ended up
camping outside the shop for the night all the same.
I was sweating so much when I came out and worried
that the ink would run that I rushed to get them
tattooed on me straight away.”
So, after having her entire back inked, what’s
next for the Westlife’s biggest fan? “I’m thinking
of having them spray-painted on my car,” said Vicky.
“That’s each of their faces on the doors and all
four of them on the boot. If I can afford it I’ll
have them on the roof as well.
“I might have to run that by Colin first though,”
she added. “I’m not sure how he’d feel driving to
Asda in something like that.”

Brian McFadden has taken a pop at his
former Westlife bandmates, claiming that they "work
too hard".The Dublin singer, who was reunited
this weekend with his former bandmate Nicky Byrne at
the Soccer Aid event at Wembley, said that it was
great to catch up with him.
"We don't get to see each other much because
we're travelling around, so it was really nice to
catch up. I miss the boys themselves, but I don't
miss everything that they do. They work too hard,
them boys," he said.
Even though the boyband have now taken the rest
of the year off, Brian continued: "They work every
single day. They get one week off a year.
I'm too old and too lazy to do that now."

And the band manage made it clear it had nothing to do with her fiance -

Louis said She is there but not because she is his girlfriend. Its
because she is a great, great singer.
Gorgeous Jodi Albert is one of eight beauties, who made it through Louis
and Kians audtions last July.
Over 1500 people turned up to for the new Irish girlband. Louis said the
final 20, had been narrowed down to 8 on Mondays audtitions.

after father falls ill

Westlife star Kian Egan (28) has made a mercy dash to be at his father
Kevin's bedside after he was admitted to a Dublin hospital.
The worried singer sparked speculation that all was not well after he
was seen this week visiting someone in Beaumont Hospital with his
fiancee Jodi Albert (25), the Diary can reveal.
Although details about the nature of his father's illness are still
vague, the young star is clearly concerned for his dad's condition as he
has cancelled most work commitments for the rest of the week.
Mr Egan senior was rushed to the Dublin hospital from his home in Sligo
on Monday evening and has remained there having a series of tests
carried out in one of the specialist wings of Beaumont.
The blonde singer was spotted relaxing in the VIP area at the Electric
Picnic last weekend before rushing back up to Dublin at the start of the
week.
It was initially thought this was to oversee the next round of auditions
for the Irish girlband he's setting up with Louis Walsh, but it has now
emerged that visiting his father was his main priority.
"All I know is his dad was brought in for tests on Monday evening and
Kian happened to be in Dublin at the same time," said his spokesperson.
"I just got a text saying that he was going to be out of circulation
because his dad was in hospital. He said nothing more about the nature
of the illness."
Hailing from a large family with three brothers and three sisters, Kian
has always stayed close to his parents Kevin and Patricia, even
preferring to stay living in Sligo rather than moving down to Dublin.
Meanwhile, it's full steam ahead for his €1m nuptial celebrations to
Jodi after the pair found the perfect location for the dream wedding
after weeks of looking for the ideal place to swap vows.
"I can't wait to be Jodi's husband, for her to be my wife and to have
children and an amazing family life together," said Kian. "Jodi is
incredible, there will never be anyone else."
Although the couple are naturally keeping the wedding venue under wraps,
Jodi had said they want the occasion to be completely unique.
"The wedding reflects exactly who me and Kian are as a couple. It's our
vibe. It's brilliant and I can't wait for it. It's come around so fast,"
she said.

Bryan McFadden has claimed that Westlife work "too hard" and that he
doesn't miss being in a boyband.
The singer will be reunited with his former bandmate Nicky Byrne at
Sunday's Soccer Aid event at Wembley, where both of them are playing for
the Rest of the World XI.
"It was great to see Nicko," McFadden told DS. "We don't get to see each
other much because we're travelling around, so it was really nice to
catch up."
He continued: "I miss the boys themselves, but I don't miss everything
that they do. They work too hard, them boys.
"They work every single day. They get one week off a year. I'm too old
and too lazy to do that now."
Speaking about his solo career plans, he added: "Hopefully, I'll be
releasing the album over here in February or March. I'm on tour in
Australia in January. Hopefully I'll get over to the UK after that."
Soccer Aid airs this Sunday on ITV at 6pm.

Gorgeous singer and actress Jodi Albert was spotted with three other
wannabees that have made it to the final 8 leaving auditions in Tripod.
Dublin, to have dinner in Little Caecar's restauraunt.
Model Michelle McGrath is also in the final 8, along with 19 years old
Leigh Learmont and a beauty called Sharon, whose boyfriend is Derek
Oconnor from the Camembert Quartet.
Due to the veil of secrecy surrounding the identity of the final 8, the
other potential pop stars names are unknown.
Little Britain comics Matt Lucas and David Walliams,called into Tripod,
to meet up with Kian Egan who will co manage the band with Louis. .
Later on Louis repayed the favour by attending funnyman David's play, No
mans land in the Gate theatre
